If there ever was a political cartoon that perfectly summarized the modern left’s delusions in America, this is probably it.
Here, we see not only the progressive arguments for wealth redistribution, but also a clear glimpse into how the left categorizes people. It’s very easy to forgo individuality and lump everyone into classes as Karl Marx did, because the opposite would actually demand serious argumentation.
The first mistake the cartoonist makes is really what every leftist makes: the assumption that wealth is finite. It’s not. Capitalism allows every individual the option to work for someone else or work for himself.
The second mistake comes in when we see the GOP elephant offering the fat-cat capitalist “tax cut” whip cream, ignoring the premise that the wealth was generated by the same individual it’s being offered to.
The left’s derision for the wealthy is nothing new, but there is an even more omnious trend this cartoon doesn’t cover. It’s no longer just the wealthy the left has it out for, evidenced by Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Pretty soon, cartoons like this will have the “middle class” sitting right next to “the rich”.
