Why Memes Are SO Effective During Elections

If you still have a friend or relative who doesn’t know exactly what a meme is or why it is important, here’s one you can direct them to! This meme contains a no-muss, no-fuss, straightforward explanation of what a meme is… in meme form. You’re welcome.

The actor and comedian Nick Offerman, pictured here, is a pretty typical Hollywood lib and therefore probably not a fan of memes personally. We wouldn’t be at all surprised if he’s on the commie ban-all-the-memes side of that fence.

But his character Ron Swanson from NBC’s “Parks and Recreation” is perfect for meme-ing and that’s why we see “Ron” all over social media. He has the perfect skeptical facial expressions and cocked eyebrows to convey a “Hey, look, I know you’re full of it” message to someone.

Not to mention the fact that “Ron” is a small-government, whiskey-drinking, lady-lovin’, man’s man who enjoys hunting, eating meat and woodworking — pretty much like everyone here at the Facts Not Memes office. Ron Swanson was an ironically human character in the freakshow of modern-day Hollywood, which is why so many small-government types loved the character.

Anyway, now you have a meme of Ron Swanson to explain what memes are to those friends and relatives who are behind the times!
