Why Isn’t the Media Screaming “Collusion!” Anymore?

It took them a very long time, but progressives in the media have finally gotten around to shifting the narrative for 2020.

In a way, we’re almost relieved — we thought we were going to hear about Russia for the rest of our lives. Now, screaming “recession” over and over again will surely get to the point where’ it’s just as annoying as the Trump-Russia conspiracy, but at least we have different material to work with.

Democrats like Rep. Adam Schiff and others pinned their entire careers on the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory. Democratic activists were raising money by selling t-shirts with Robert Mueller’s face on it. The goal was pretty transparent, in retrospect: this was nothing short of a coup to boot Trump from office, and force Republicans into a position where they can’t field a candidate to replace him.

Well, it seems the Democrats have finally moved on. At the very least, an economic recession is a legitimate concern — and something that has actually happened in the past. The revealing part is that it’s clear that Democratic leadership is actively hoping for it, which on a moral level is almost worse than blatantly lying about a duly elected president.
