Which Republicans are Actually Defending Slavery?

It’s very confusing that leftist politicians and their loyal meme-makers are still zeroing in on the Confederate statue issue, considering a majority of Americans disagree with them. Nevertheless, their revisionist rhetoric demands that we pay attention to their arguments.

Somehow, taking a stance against removing public monuments with precisely no public input is equivalent to defending the Confederacy and by extension, slavery.

Republicans are entirely correct in pointing out that their party gets all the credit for ending slavery, even considering that Abraham Lincoln was somewhat skeptical about doing so at the time. While it’s probably unfair to consider modern Democrats proponents of slavery, the fact that they would deny this part of their history underscores just how dishonest progressive partisans can be.

Just as there were absolutely no Republican slave owners during the Civil War, there is no prominent Republican openly praising the Confederacy which opposed the Union during the Civil War. Zero.

This sort of rhetoric is dangerous, and will only serve to convince impressionable young minds into taking up arms on the streets. It needs to stop.
