Where is This Mysterious “Recession” The Media Keeps Talking About?

Going into 2020, political pundits are ditching the non-story that is the Trump-Russia conspiracy theory and pivoting to another outlandish claim: the American economy is on the brink of collapse.

That’s right: the economic conditions that have brought unemployment in America to historic lows — particular for women and racial minorities — is about to go down in flames. You see, your low taxes and increased purchasing power are actually bad things. The growth in GDP, while history, is actually going to reverse any day now.

Liberals haven’t been shy about this: they are rooting for America’s economy to fall in some way. HBO host Bill Maher was as transparent as anyone else when he said “bring on the recession”, because he understands that’s the only way a Democrat is going to defeat President Trump in the 2020 election.

When you see headlines like this, ask yourself: where is this recession? And when you head to the polls next year, ask yourself the same question Ronald Reagan asked us in 1984: are you better off now than you were four years ago?
