When Nancy Pelosi Complains About the Cost of a Border Wall

Walls work, and even Democrats admit that. They will never say it on the floor of Congress, but they basically capitulate to this point every time they return to their walled homes. As it turns out, physical boundaries are a fantastic way of keeping people out.

This is why the “walls don’t work” campaign lasted all of a week and a half — because it was so obviously disproven. When a smug Jim Acosta stood next to a border fence during an Instagram live feed, he proudly boasted that there wasn’t a hint of crime in the area — failing to make the connection that the fence he was standing next to might have had something to do with that.

So, now we’re back to talking about cost — something no Democrat had ever given a damn about until five minutes ago. They’re happy to blow out the budget to save the whales, or throw money at people who have never had money before, but they can’t be bothered to do the same to secure the borders and protect the American people from foreign threats.

This is what Democrats like House Speaker Nancy Pelosi don’t understand — $9 billion sounds like a lot of money up front, because it is. But this is a drop in the bucket for the cost of open borders. When illegal crossings surge, law enforcement is forced to expend a lot of resources to contain it. One way or another, taxpayers are paying for the border…it might as well be a border that actually matters.
