Trump Supporters Aren’t the Brain-Dead Zombies the Left Hopes They Are

President Donald Trump’s Twitter account seems to be public enemy number one for leftist memers, with one going so far as to suggest that the president’s supporters would actually believe him if he tweeted out that he’s repealed Obamacare.

It’s definitely true that Trump has a fairly loyal following, but they’re not as firmly under his thumb as the left likes to think. The easiest example to recall didn’t even take place that long ago.

Before de-escalating tensions in Syria, President Trump ordered a military strike against on of Bashar al-Assad’s air strips. His supporters didn’t react too kindly, making the Trump loyalty argument go up in smoke.

One of these detractors was Infowars Editor-at-Large Paul Joseph Watson, who even stated that he was “off the Trump train” in response to the event.

This sentiment should not have been surprising. After all, Trump campaigned and won on the message that America’s foreign policy was far too entangled with the rest of the world. Bombing Syria was seen as a massive betrayal of this promise.

Watson has since warmed back up to the president, but this goes to show that many visible Trump supporters aren’t afraid to call the president out when he sways off message.
