This Shows You EXACTLY What Happened to American Culture

Look — America is a very accepting place, and that is in fact part of what our country’s armed men and women fight for. But, let’s not kid ourselves: our priorities are pretty off these days.

For the entire month of June, multinational companies — many of which are based in the United States — are changing their social media profile pictures to rainbow versions of whatever they usually have up there. This is done as a way to show solidarity with the LGBT community, which has in fact endured social discrimination in various forms all throughout history.

So, a cultural event based on this is understandable — to a point. When you consider that Memorial Day and maybe Independence Day are the only days set aside to honor our nation’s courageous warriors, it should cause you a moment of pause.

This is underscored by the fact that the United States is, and honestly has been for a long time, one of the best countries to live if you are in fact gay, lesbian, transgender, or whatever else falls under that umbrella these days. True: legal same-sex marriage is still very new — but this doesn’t change the fact that minorities of every stripe can expect a far better life here than in most of the world — specifically the Middle East and most of the African continent.
