Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders is a radical — we all knew this before he made his second consecutive run for the presidency. 2020 Bernie, however, is somehow even scarier than 2016 Bernie — the self-avowed socialist made that clear during a CNN town hall event this week.
In no uncertain terms, Sanders said he believes criminals who are currently incarcerated should be given the right to vote. We’re not talking about restoring voting rights for people who have served their sentences — we’re talking about people who are behind bars right now for whatever reason.
When pressed on the issue, Bernie doubled down. One individual asked the senator to clarify, seeing as it would mean that the person reading this right now would have the same voting rights as the Boston Marathon bomber. Apparently, Bernie has no problem with that.
So, that’s what we’re dealing with folks — a socialist who wants terrorists to vote. Maybe it’s part of his campaign strategy?
