This Al Franken Tweet Really Didn’t Age Well…

Sometimes, leftist virtue-signaling backfires in the most brutal of ways…

Yesterday, Democratic Senator and former comedian Al Franken was implicated in several instances sexual assault by former model and sportscaster Leeann Tweeden, who tweeted a picture of the then-comic groping her breasts while she slept while the two were performing in Afghanistan.

Tweeden further noted that Franken forced his tongue inside of her mouth during a rehearsal, which she did not consent to.

Immediately following the revelation, Al Franken offered what is by all accounts a half apology, saying he didn’t remember the event the same way that she did. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell immediately forwarded the matter to the Senate Ethics committee.

There are several layers of irony in this tweet, immortalized by /r/The_Donald on Reddit. First of all, the picture in question shows Tweeden in military garb while Franken is assaulting her. Second, Franken himself is committing an act of assault.

It remains to be seen whether or not Democrats who consistently voice disgust for this sort of behavior will hold one of their favorite lawmakers accountable for these actions.
