This 1991 Film Classic Would be Abhorred if Released Today

If you’re a fan of crime movies, chances are you got this reference instantly — and who could blame you?

Silence of the Lambs is a gritty crime drama that doubles as a psychological thriller. Considering the arch villain is a cannibalistic genius and homicidal maniac, it isn’t exactly a film for the faint of heart. Add in the twisted character Buffalo Bill, pictured in this image, and you’re set for a few hours of horrific fascination.

Now, imagine if this movie was released today — with all the elements left in tact. This would include Buffalo Bill’s gender dysphoria, a mental disorder now celebrated as some sort of ‘woke’ identity by the regressive left. Critics would shun the production before the film’s release, and you would see endless writeups from websites like Buzzfeed and HuffPo about how just purchasing a ticket to see the film in theaters is just a couple steps away from goose-stepping and throwing up a sieg heil

It’s disturbing to consider this when you account for the fact that Silence of the Lambs isn’t even that old. Within a single generation, timeless art classics are becoming too “offensive” for what is allegedly the most educated cohort in history to stomach.
