The Truth About Trump’s ‘Fire and Fury’ Comment

This image has exploded all over social media for two main reasons. The first is that memes involving the president are pretty much a guarantee for internet points…whatever those are. The second is that in incorporates one of the latest episodes of Game of Thrones, easily HBO’s bread and butter at this point.

In it, we see a satirical treatment of Donald Trump’s comments about North Korea — with the “fire and fury” bit seen as being influenced by the dragon attack against Lannister soldiers in the HBO fantasy hit.

While this is actually one of the more genuinely humorous images we’ve covered here, the left-wing reaction to the comment in question is unbelievably hypocritical.

Just about every president has made similar comments regarding the rogue state. Barack Obama, who is still essentially the standard-bearer of the Democratic Party, once went so far as to say he would “destroy” the country in the event military tensions rose to that point. Bill Clinton and George W. Bush issued similar statements in when provoked by Kim Jong Il, the father of the current despot.

Perhaps even more disturbing: why are liberals so angry at the president promising to defend the country? Perhaps that’s a discussion for another time…
