The Trump-Russia Jokes Are Beyond Getting Old

After yet another attempt to repeal the 2010 Affordable Care Act was defeated in the Senate, left-wing memers are rallying around Republican Senator John McCain’s decision to oppose the bill.

The meme to the left suggests McCain’s opposition was less driven ideology as it was by a personal feud between himself and the president.

“Sorry Trump,” it reads. “I just prefer presidents who weren’t captured by Putin.”

Of course, this is a reference to Trump’s statements on McCain’s military record — which includes time spent in a POW camp during the Vietnam War.

This meme isn’t just baseless in substance, it falls back on a narrative that even mainstream Democrats are giving up on.

After over a year of attempting to tie every one of Trump’s moves to the Kremlin, there is still absolutely no evidence to suggest the president secured power with Vladimir Putin’s help.

Unfortunately, the media lives in a post-facts age where suspicion is enough to change the narrative. All we can do at this point is look forward to how they media will be spinning the next 7 and a half years after Trump once again capitalizes on their incompetence.
