President Donald Trump is officially running for re-election. And, like with any newly-announced candidate, we have a good idea of what the rest of the campaign is going to look like by his fundraising within the first 24 hours…needless to say, The Donald smashed it.
Raising over $25 million within the first official day of his campaign, Donald Trump makes the rest of the 25 Democrats running against him look like amateurs. Within just a day, Trump is already pulling a larger campaign war chest than Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and every other Democratic contender.
Now, to be fair — the Republican Party is unified under Trump at this point. He’s been president for almost three years, and he enjoys a very high approval rating from within his own party. The Democrats, on the other hand, are split between many candidates.
The real show of force came when Trump took to the stage in Orlando, where he spoke in front of 100,000 people. This obviously dwarfs the crowd size of any Democrat at this point — even the populist Bernie Sanders.
If we were running the DNC right now, we’d be working overtime…
