Over the decades, it’s been very rare to find something Democrats won’t throw government money at. It’s like their super power — when it doubt, pass a ridiculous spending bill to solve a problem. It’s been their go-to, and they’ve never faltered — until now.
The crisis on the border is just that — a crisis. Scores of migrants are pouring through the U.S.-Mexico border every day, and are often detained and brought to a detention center for processing. It’s an ugly situation, to be sure, but apparently migrant parents still see this as being worth the risk of breaking the law.
President Donald Trump has, for weeks now, been calling on Congress to give him the money he needs to bring more resources to these detention centers. We’re not talking about weapons and ammo for border patrol agents. We’re talking about beds, food, soap, toothbrushes — everyday items people need to get through the day. And these are for the migrants so that they can live with dignity while going through the migration process.
Apparently, Democratic compassion for these migrants ends here. Anything that will cast President Trump in a positive light is a net loss for them. Unfortunately, the biggest losers here are the migrants themselves.
