The Fall of CNN Explained in One Image

The latest numbers are in — and the “most trusted name in news” is no longer listed in America’s top 25 most-watched cable networks. A glance at the image to the left perfectly explains why.

Unlike many of its competitors, CNN markets itself as the arbiter of objective truth — a haven for journalistic integrity and supposedly everything else that comes with it. If the network’s near worship-level coverage of the previous administration and their reporting on the current president is any indication, this is patently false.

Based on these three headlines from the network’s opinion page, it would appear the editorial board reversed its stance on paid family leave as soon as President Donald Trump started agreeing with them. This is hardly a unique display — the network has been virulently anti-Trump since the campaign.

While it’s definitely easy to get frustrated with CNN, it’s worth noting that the network has fallen on its own sword. Their anti-Trump bias is now in plain view, and American viewers have taken notice. The only thing that remains to be seen is whether the network’s higher ups will actually try to fix the problem, or simply double down on it and try to compete with MSNBC.
