The Democratic Party’s 2020 Platform in a Single Photo

We’ve been making fun of the Democratic Party for a long time here, but even we have to say — the party’s been through some very significant changes in a relatively short amount of time. What we’re trying to say is…we almost miss the party of Barack Obama, because the party of AOC is nothing if not frightening — and sometimes hilarious.

When Barack Obama was the face of the Democratic Party, it signaled a shift in the party’s ideology. While it has always been to the left of the average American, Obama helped push the party to the far left. It became fashionable for younger members to style themselves as “democratic socialists”, who repeat the mantra “real socialism has never been tried” until they are blue in the face. Identity politics swept the ranks, and suddenly someone’s race is a qualifier for how important (or not) their opinion is on a certain issue.

Today, the party is taking another leap into radicalism — and at this point it’s clear that there is simply no coming back. Even though Joe Biden is leading the presidential primary contest in the polls, his support is coming mainly from older Democratic partisans who aren’t completely sold on the idea that having borders is racist, and that the entire economy needs to be micromanaged by someone with gender dysphoria.

But this is it, folks. After Biden’s time is gone, and all the other moderates fall out of favor, this is the Democratic Party of the future.
