Taylor Swift Joins the Ranks of “NPC Celebrities”

Pop and country singer sensation Taylor Swift has long been known to keep quiet about politics — that is until she joined the ranks of virtue signaling celebrities over the weekend.

Swift broke her silence by endorsing a pair of Democratic congressional candidates in an Instagram post that also encouraged her 112 million followers to register to vote. The voter registration website vote.org reported a sharp uptick in registrations since the post went viral.

Now, when celebrities encourage their hordes to vote, it’s important to keep in mind what they’re really asking them to do — vote Democrat.

This image here takes a jab at what Taylor Swift has become over the past 48 hours. “NPC”, for those who don’t know, refers to a “non-playable character” in roleplaying video games and tabletop games. In other words, it is a person who is only capable of regurgitating thoughts and behaviors that others have programmed into them. We can’t think of a better way to describe celebrities when they go political. Aside form a few holdouts, almost everyone in Hollywood is a mouthpiece for the DNC.
