Socialism: The Most Dangerous Weapon of All Time

Normally, meme trends tend to die within a week after they go viral, but we couldn’t resist revisiting USA Today’s ridiculous “chainsaw bayonet” fail.

As we’ve reported previously, USA Today’s suggestion that such a bizarre attachment is in any way commonplace inspired a horde of satirical impersonators. This image in particular hits the left right where it hurts.

Communism, a term often used interchangeably with socialism when the Soviet Union was a major world power, has been used to justify a litany of crimes against humanity. One of the most overlooked incidents was the Holodomor — in which Soviet dictator Josef Stalin starved Ukrainians for refusing to march lock-step with the Soviet agenda.

In addition to these failed policies, communist dictatorships like the USSR and Mao’s China consolidated power by silencing and punishing dissent. Millions of people were sent to forced labor camps and tortured until their death.

Of course, hearing that this “wasn’t real socialism” is a trope for the left. But this is very hard to believe when every truly socialist country has implemented the same policies.
