This meme seems pretty sensible. On its surface, there’s really nothing to debunk here, as it almost reads as a jab at the left — which has been known to be quite hostile toward dissenting opinions as of late.
The irony here is that this image was shared by Occupy Democrats, a leftist Facebook page which acts as a factory for snowflake-level triggering.
This is the same page which has suggested that Donald Trump is Hitler, the Republican Party is basically the Nazi Party, and anyone who even remotely sympathizes with either is no different.
Did the admits over at Occupy Democrats have a change of heart?
Not really, as a quick visit to their page reveals their just as triggered today as they have ever been.
There is an important message to take from this image, however. Discourse is built on disagreement, and its vital that individuals are comfortable with exchanging ideas with one another even when said ideas seem to be in opposition. In fact, resolving disagreements is arguably more important than simply reinforcing pre-existing beliefs.
