Reminder: Walmart is a Massive Democratic Donor

We’ve reported on a number of instances showing that liberal memers love to eat their own, but this one is pretty surprising.

This image was posted by leftist meme page The Other 98% this week, also linking to a research paper detailing income disparities in the United States. Disregarding the fact that America’s poor are still among the wealthiest people on Earth, the point here is to illustrate that the richest Americans are somehow taking advantage of everyone else, and that their wealth is unearned.

Walmart, the retail giant listed as the second-largest corporation in the United States, is a common target in these sort of arguments. It’s also one of the largest donors for the Democratic Party.

According to OpenSecrets.org, Walmart is anything but subtle with its political donations. The corporation’s political action committee shelled out a whopping $113,898 for Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton in 2016, more than it gave Donald Trump and Bernie Sanders combined.

It also handed over $68,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, at the same time giving only $49,000 to its Republican counterpart.

If liberals really want to continue playing the class warfare game, perhaps it should look at the party that claims to represent them.
