Reminder: Immigrants in Detention Centers are Free to Leave

If the detention centers housing busloads of illegal immigrants really are “concentration camps” as New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez likes to put it, they are the worst concentration camps ever made.

Correct us if we are wrong, but, the entire point of a concentration camp is to keep people in — rather than encourage people to leave. Then again, President Donald Trump is also the worst Nazi in the history of Nazis, what with recognizing Israeli sovereignty and all that. All these damned white nationalists sure are bad at their jobs!

Referring to the detention centers as concentration camps is beyond dishonest — it’s historically offensive. Concentration camps were used to eliminate an entire population. During World War II, Nazis scoured through Europe to find more Jews to kill. It was one of the greatest acts of evil to ever befall mankind. Detention centers, by an extreme contrast, are being filled by people who want to get into the United States. Not the same thing.

This isn’t to say that the conditions at the facilities are ideal. But as you can see in this picture, it’s a far cry from what Holocaust survivors had to deal with…
