The gun control crowd’s logic is pretty easy to understand, provided you’re willing to suspend your understanding of reality. Guns are weapons, weapons kill people, therefore removing guns will result in less people being killed. Easy, right?
Well, not exactly. Before the Islamic State terror group was effectively eradicated under the watch of the Trump Administration, the largest terror attacks around the world took place in Europe, where firearm ownership is not considered a constitutional right. The attack in Nice, France, for example, involved a terrorist murdering civilians in the street with a stolen van.
Of course, other attacks involved firearms anyway, despite the fact that they are functionally illegal in many parts of Europe — especially the United Kingdom. So, the idea that guns themselves are either responsible for all mass killings goes up in smoke pretty quickly.
But, let’s humor the left for a moment, and recall a time before those horrifying boom sticks took over the world. As it turns out, Planet Earth was a pretty violent place. And remember: being stabbed on a battlefield is very different than being shot. Victims often didn’t die right away, but instead bled to death while clinging to life.
Life was pretty gruesome before guns, honestly…
