Reddit Accidentally Defends Border Security

When immigration is circulating throughout the headlines, it’s pretty common for liberals to bring up the obvious fact that Europeans were not the first people to arrive and settle in North America. Therefore, they argue it isn’t fair to have some level of scrutiny for others entering the United States.

Here, we see an attempt to illustrate this idea — but it backfires horribly.

In the picture, we see stereotypical Native Americans asking European visitors to present some sort of identification.

But, can you imagine if this actually happened?

If you recall, this didn’t work out terribly well for the native population, in part due to the fact that Europeans were essentially allowed to expand as they pleased.

What happened to the Native Americans in the wake of European exploration is tragic, but it’s a stern reminder that cultures need to protect themselves to survive. The cold, hard truth is that this population was ill-equipped to do so, and suffered as a result.

Ironically, this image presents a powerful argument against illegal immigration.
