New York Becomes a Post-Apocalyptic War Movie

We kind of have to subtract some points from this meme “creator” because let’s face it – this is pretty lazy. But, the “Escape from New York” movie poster does sum up these crazy times a bit nicely, doesn’t it?

Cape Cod is actually talking about closing the bridges to keep fleeing New Yorkers out right now. As for the New Yorkers, many of them don’t seem to get this whole “social distancing” thing, do they?

At Martha’s Vineyard, they have a tiny hospital that only has nine ICU beds in it. Eight of those beds are currently filled with New Yorkers who fled their home state thinking they’d be safer on the island, and then got sick. Go figure! That hospital is about to be overwhelmed because the New Yorkers didn’t want to shelter in place like normal people are doing.

Rhode Island and other states are stopping New Yorkers at the border and quarantining them for two weeks. Crazy times. The problem in this sequel is that Snake Plissken has the Chinese virus, and we don’t actually want him to escape.

Stay home, New Yorkers! Shelter in place and you’ll be okay.
