Marvel Star’s Call for More “Diversity” in Film Backfires Horribly

There seems to be some sort of unspoken rule in Hollywood where, if you’re even slightly famous, you have to echo the same political talking points as anyone else.

Well, maybe we should rephrase that – this rule isn’t exactly unspoken, because any and all detractors are immediately blacklisted. Even Chris Pratt, an actor who has never sounded off on any political issues at all, was attacked on social media just for coming out as a devoted Christian.

Apparently, there are two sides to this coin. After actress Brie Larson of Captain Marvel fame called for more “inclusion” and “diversity” in Hollywood films, internet trolls immediately began to call for her character to be replaced.

There are several petitions circulating around the internet right now, one of which calls for Captain Marvel to be portrayed by a person of color. Now, let’s not kid ourselves – these petitions likely won’t result in anything serious for Larson. But, they do demonstrate how this intersectional obsession can backfire on some of its strongest supporters.
