Ma’ams Will Be Ma’ams — A True Story of Toxic Masculinity

It seems like the entire world has already moved on from Gillette’s needless attack on masculinity, but the memeing hasn’t stopped — and it shouldn’t.

One of the strangest things to come out of that ad was the bizarre take on the phrase “boys will be boys”, which was uttered as two young boys were seen play-fighting in the grass while older men watched. Because fathers would never interfere with something like that or anything. That just never happens, right?

Well, perhaps there was a glimmer of truth to what the ad was implying there, evidenced by the individual at the top of this image. If you don’t remember, this person lost his/her mind when a young Gamestop employee referred to the biological man as “sir”. Obviously, this is a transgender person who really wants us all to call her “ma’am”. Of course, it was hard not to hear the deep, male tone in the person’s voice in the confrontation, so the memes that came from this situation have been far from forgiving.

Ma’ams will be ma’ams, right?
