Liberals Suddenly Decide This Phrase is “Racist”

Florida’s gubernatorial race is hitting its final stride, and no election would be complete without Democrats doing everything they can to claim their Republican opponent is a vile racist.

After winning his primary, Florida gubernatorial candidate Ron DeSantis said electing Democratic nominee Andrew Gillum would “monkey up” the state’s gains under current Governor Rick Scott, who is running for Senate.

Always quick to see race in everything, the progressive left has taken the “monkey” comment to suggest DeSantis was referring to the fact that Gillum is black. As we see in the image here, however, the phrase isn’t exactly rare in politics. Curiously, it only seems to have a racial component when a Republican uses it. Strange how that works…

DeSantis has since tried to clear things up by pointing out the comment was not intended to have any racial implication. But, if we’ve learned anything about the left, we can count on them doubling down on this narrative anyway.
