We’ve shown you plenty of images like this before, but it never hurts to have a refresher.
At this point, the Obama years almost feel like a distant memory. The economy is a powerhouse, ISIS is a thing of the past, and the federal government is actually taking its own existing laws seriously. At the end of the day, that’s really what President Donald Trump’s immigration push has really been about. At no point has Trump ever moved to introduce new immigration laws. Rather, he has simply advocated for enforcing the laws we already have. That’s more than can be said for his predecessor.
Based on what we’re looking at here, it seems almost impossible that a Democrat can win in 2020. And we’re not basing that just on our own partisanship — even Politico reported as much earlier this week. If the economy remains strong, and Democratic presidential candidates continue to rip each other apart, Trump may in fact be looking at a blowout victory in 2020.
Let’s not pretend this is dumb luck either. What’s winning the day is smarter public policy, and that’s really what we’re voting for in 2020.
