Has Anyone Really Thought This “Defund the Police” Thing Through?

Oh, great, so now we’re going to defund the police in major cities? Kermit the Frog has a very logical question about that plan in this meme!

Since it’s being demanded that we should just defund the police – no question asked – it’s worth exploring places where that has actually happened.

Baltimore, Maryland, for example, massively defunded its police department five years ago after the BLM riots there.

How is life in Baltimore these days? Oh, right. It now has a murder rate that is twice as high as Chicago’s, per capita. They’re averaging north of 350 black-on-black murders every single year there, ever since they decided to defund the police.

Baltimore is now the ninth most dangerous city in the world, thanks to defunding the police.

There are drug cartel-controlled cities in Mexico that are safer to visit right now than the city of Baltimore – the city where the Star-Spangled Banner was composed.

Don’t fall for the idea that a city will be safer if the police are defunded. If it happens, Kermit’s question in this meme could become very relevant to all of us.
