Fact: America is a Much Better Place for Women Than Saudi Arabia

This tweet represents just about every reason why even mainstream liberals like Bill Maher have distanced themselves from the reactionary left. Naturally, the tweet has since been deleted after right-wing accounts spent a whole day mocking it — and for good reason.

Recently, news broke that the repressive Kingdom of Saudi Arabia has finally decided that allowing women to drive will not bring forth the End of Days. While this is certainly good news for women who are unfortunate enough to live in the fundamentalist state, it underscores just how much more progressive Western countries are than the Middle East on just about every issue.

Claiming that Saudi Arabia does more for women than the United States or any Western country shoots right past intellectual dishonesty and lands somewhere close to pure insanity.

The West has always been a better place not just for women, but also for minority populations. No where else in the world do native populations appear to care more for demographics that look and behave differently. Considering this, its no wonder why third-world families often risk everything they have (which is often very little) just to live here.

This is a status every Western resident, native-born or migrant, should be proud of. After all, we even allow idiots like this to spread blatant lies over social media.
