Democrats Don’t Want You to Have These Nice Things

Just to be clear, this is not a tweet by the President of the United States, but it does make a pretty effective counter-argument for him going into 2020.

This election cycle is packed with candidates who, simply put, want to take things away from you. And yes, New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is not a presidential candidate, but she (for whatever reason) is an immensely influential figure for the Democratic base right now. This is why many of her positions have been adopted by the likes of Cory Booker, Kamala Harris, and Elizabeth Warren.

But, if setting an example is the goal here, these Democrats are failing miserably. AOC will talk up a storm about curbing carbon emissions, and restructuring the entire U.S. economy to fit into her idea of a green utopia, but she’s very quick to hop on a flight to travel to and from her district. The same can be said for every Democrat who has virtue-signaled support for her Green New Deal.

The Democratic Party’s platform can be summed up in one phrase: rights for me, but not for thee.
