Democrats Actually Believe AOC’s Doomsday Conspiracy Theory

Not long after being sworn in to her first term in Congress, New York’s Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez made a name for herself by putting her name on the “Green New Deal” — a radical bill that would aim to ban air travel and meat consumption to save the planet.

After dropping a summary of the bill on her website, AOC made the rounds to justify why such a radical bill was necessary. According to the former bartender, human beings only have about 12 more years to live before the climate change monster becomes sentient and destroys the world.

Obviously, it was pretty hard to take the young congresswoman seriously. Even members of her own party in the Senate opted to vote “present” on the bill when Majority Leader Mitch McConnell brought it to a vote. Now, AOC says you would have to be an idiot to actually take her seriously, because she was clearly joking — right?

Well, apparently her supporters missed the memo, because they took AOC’s doomsday prediction quite seriously. In fact, a substantial majority of Democrats really do believe the world is going to end in 12 years.

It doesn’t look like the congresswoman’s statements are going to age well — whether we’re alive to remember them or not.
