Deep Thoughts on Lockdowns with Ice Cube

The biggest red states in the nation – Texas and Florida – have announced that they won’t be imposing COVID lockdowns on their residents again. As for everyone else in the country, it’s suddenly looking pretty attractive to move to Texas or Florida.

Ice Cube raises some pretty obvious questions in this meme: If the lockdowns worked the first time, why do we suddenly need a second lockdown? And if didn’t work the first time… why do we need a second lockdown?

The answer is obvious: None of this is about public health or science.

If you’re healthy and age 19 or under, you have a better than 99.99% chance of surviving coronavirus, if you even manage to somehow catch it. If you’re under the age of 70 and relatively healthy, you have a 99.5% to 99.99% chance of surviving it.

Locking down healthy people and preventing them from life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness has nothing to do with the spread of COVID. This is all about power and control over the people. The real question is: How much longer are people going to put up with this?
