Colin Kaepernick Named ‘Citizen of the Year’, PJW Trolls Him Perfectly

In a bizarre display of virtue signaling gone wrong, monthly international men’s magazine GQ recently named Colin Kaepernick its “citizen of the year” — landing the former 49ers quarterback a cover photo for the publication.

The awkward part? Fellow recipients of this esteemed honor don’t seem to be of the highest stock, as pointed out on Twitter by Infowars’ Paul Joseph Watson.

Kevin Spacey and Louis CK, the other two individuals on this list, have each been implicated in high-profile sexual harassment scandals. While at the time of writing it appears Louis CK’s allegations are in a bit more of a gray area than Spacey’s, it’s clear GQ doesn’t exactly have the most advanced vetting process for this award they apparently give people.

One really has to wonder what Kaepernick did to earn any sort of award in 2017. Sure, people of a certain political persuasion could point to him starting the infamous national anthem protests during NFL games in 2016, but as of 2017 he really hasn’t done anything outside of suing his former employer.

That’s seriously it. Kaepernick hasn’t done anything else other than presumably continue to breathe, eat, and sleep. Apparently, that qualifies him for praise.

2017 is pretty strange.
