China Must REALLY Miss Barack Obama Right Now

Communist China has had a great deal with the United States since the 1970s. Here’s how it goes: we give them a bunch of money in exchange for their cheap goods, and in return they put up trade barriers against us. It’s wonderful.

President Donald Trump has been railing against this arrangement since long before he was even a reality television star. As early as the 1980s, when Trump was really starting to become a household name as a real estate mogul, the budding billionaire commonly lambasted the lopsided trade deal between the U.S. and China. It was a message he continued to hammer down when he flirted with a White House run in 2012, and again when he successfully ran in 2016.

Now that Trump is in office, he has the opportunity to finally take the fight to the Chinese. Instead of letting Beijing get away with doing whatever they want, he has met China’s unfair trade barriers with tariffs of his own. This is putting a lot of pressure on the Chinese to come to the table – China relies on America for exports, and Trump knows that.

We don’t need to tell you how different this approach is than the one took by Trump’s predessor. The results obviously speak for themselves.
