Wealth people, including politicians, are also often very generous people. Americans on average donate more of their incomes to charity than any other nationality, and that’s especially true for some of the most successful people in the United States.
This is a tradition that crosses party lines. For every mean thing we have to say about Hillary Clinton — we will admit here that she is one of those people, and that’s a good thing. So is President Donald Trump. One person that apparently isn’t very involved in charity is Democratic presidential hopeful Beto O’Rourke, who was asked about this one of the last times he stood on a table.
Beto’s response to this criticism was nothing if not comical. The former Texas congressman contended that he is charitable in other ways — using his own presidential campaign as an example. That’s right — the fact that he travels around the country in a vain attempt to re-live his years as a punk rocker is his version of charity.
The Democratic Party is doomed.
