Behold: This is the Face of Modern Day Book Burning

It just became borderline impossible for conservative content creators to make a living on YouTube, and it’s all thanks to one triggered snowflake who got upset because someone made fun of him.

Last week, conservative comedian and late night host Steven Crowder, who mixes comedy and social commentary, did what he does every day: he made jokes about someone. That person happened to be Carlos Maza, a presenter for Vox Media who openly espouses leftist views. That isn’t the issue here: Maza and his friends can and should be free to be as Marxist as they please. But, Maza crossed a serious line.

Triggered over being referred to as a “Mexican queer”, a label which he frequently uses to call himself, Maza took to Twitter to openly demand YouTube remove Crowder from the platform. After YouTube refused, he escalated his protest, and the platform eventually caved — all of Crowder’s videos now receive no ad revenue.

It’s worth noting that Maza’s Twitter handle is “@gaywonk”.

YouTube then followed up by removing or demonetizing a laundry list of other channels. To be fair, some of these channels were openly promoting what some would call “hate speech”. But many didn’t — and they’re effectively being punished because one guy complained.

Maza looks exactly like his politics, and is pictured here.
