AG William Barr is Handling Character Assassination Like a Champ

Sometimes, you just have to sit back and admire public officials that actually have a backbone.

Attorney General William Barr hasn’t had it easy lately. While he was hardy a household name before Robert Mueller’s report dropped, he’s been one of the Democratic Party’s favorite targets since he cooperated with the Special Counsel to make the report mostly available to Congress and the American people. For that, he was chastised and ridiculed.

Barr, leading Democrats contended, was part of some coverup and served as nothing more than a crony for President Trump himself. Even Robert Mueller threw some fuel into the fire by issuing a statement on Barr’s summary of his report, suggesting that he didn’t capture the tone of the investigation properly. Apparently, emotions are very important for this kind of stuff.

Well, now even Mueller is defending Barr, albeit very reluctantly. When the Special Counsel announced his resignation and the closing of his office last week, he commended the Attorney General’s cooperation. Remember — it wasn’t long ago when Democrats were worshipping the ground that Mueller walked on, because they believed he was the silver bullet the needed to get rid of the President.

As you know, this didn’t happen, but the character attacks on Barr continue. As it turns out, he’s be weathering the storm just fine.
