2020: The Year of the Genetically Modified Catastrophes

There have been a ton of memes popping up online about the murder hornets this week. The main reason for this, obviously, is because there has only been one story in the news since February.

Most of the mashups involve a shark being combined with another animal, such as the shark bunny and the really creepy shark seagull. But this one is definitely the most 2020 mashup of a fake animal that will be showing up in June: The squiger!

Probably because everyone who has lives in a lockdown state has now watched the entire Tiger King documentary series. Man-eating tiger squirrels? Why not? We’ve already had a genetically modified virus unleashed on the rest of the world by the world’s #1 export economy, followed by murder hornets.

Why wouldn’t we have man-eating squigers pitter-pattering around on our roofs by June? The year 2020 has already thrown everything else at us by this point, so bring on the shark seagulls, the tiger squirrels, and everything else that will potentially eat us when we go outside!
